Our Values

These values are already reflected within Human Rights and Equal Rights;

the problem is not absence of rights, but failure of equitable implementation. Hence:

SEND a Message.

Recognition & validation

Respectfully listening to and acknowledging neurodivergent experiences as real, valid, and fundamentally different, not defective, exaggerated, or reduced to “non-compliance”.

Informed equity

Receiving equitable treatment through informed understanding of differing neurodivergent experiences across education, healthcare, employment, justice, and wider society.

Preventative protection

Protecting neurodivergent individuals through informed equitable practice, proactive systemic response, and enforceable consequences where preventable harm results from institutional failure.

Inclusion & belonging

Creating environments where neurodivergent individuals are not merely tolerated, but able to participate safely and equitably without being disadvantaged by normative expectations.

Inclusive societies strengthen humanity, innovation, leadership, and collective progress.

Using lived experience as an essential part

of developing systems and policies, while ensuring neurodivergent individuals are

given due regard and fair representation within the decisions that affect their lives.

Treating neurodivergent individuals as

equally human, equally valuable, and

equally deserving of dignity, respect, opportunity, and lawful protection without conformity being a condition of acceptance.

Recognising neurodivergence as part of identity and human diversity, where individuals are valued as themselves

without pressure to hide, suppress,

distort or change their true selves.

Restorative Justice

Recognising society’s responsibility to uphold equal rights, value difference without deficit, and

create environments where neurodivergent individuals are able to thrive authentically.

Fostering the compassion, curiosity, connection, and diverse thinking

that bridge divides and strengthen communities

in school, in work, in society, in life,

for good.

SEND a Message exists to help shift society from tolerance to true equitable inclusion.

Misread

Behaviour interpreted without understanding neurodivergent experience.

Misjudged

Needs dismissed through assumption, bias, or normative expectation.

Marginalised

People excluded by systems never designed with difference in mind.

EPOCH

/ˈiːpɒk/noun

A distinct period in history marked by significant change, development, or transformation that shapes the future.

SEND a Message exists to:  shine a light on SENDism.

Together we can break barriers, build bridges, and create a future where every mind can thrive

in school,in work,in society,in life.
